Bryant’s Second Annual Project Playhouse

In September of 2015, Bryant University sophomore Management 200 students had an idea, an idea that had the mission to provide dream playhouses to seriously ill children. Last spring, that idea became a reality with the construction of four playhouses. Now, this year, on April 26th, five children will receive dream playhouses.

The Bryant University Management Association and Wish Kids will be hosting the 2nd annual Project Playhouse event at Bryant University where five seriously ill children will be surprised with dream playhouses of their own. This year, the themes include a surf shack, country store, Lego theme, Irish cottage, and a PawSox playhouse that will be given away by the PawSox mascot, Paws. This event will be a complete surprise to the children, as they believe they are on campus merely to play basketball and baseball with Bryant athletes. Little do they know that their communities have rallied behind them, with the help of Bryant students, to provide them with these custom built playhouses.

This year, the children receiving the playhouses hail from Burrillville, Warwick, Jamestown, Chepachet, and Newport. Bryant students have worked hard to find the technical schools whom will build the playhouses. These schools include:

  • Warwick Area Career and Technical Center
  • Chariho Career and Technical Center
  • Ponaganset Technical High School
  • Woonsocket Area Career and Technical Center

This is such a worthy cause that has had so many helping hands throughout the year. Not only have Bryant students worked hard to provide an exciting surprise to these children, but the support from the community has been unwavering. The Bryant University Management Association and Wish Kids invite you to celebrate with us on April 26th from 10am-12pm on the lawn in front of the Chase Athletic Center and be a part of this moving event!
