Bryant students may have noticed a change in Fitness Center this fall. Nick Schleicher, formerly the Director for Clubs Sports and Intramurals, has taken on a new role of Assistant Athletic Director for Campus Recreation. He will oversee the myriad roles of Bryant Recreation. The Recreation department has expanded its Group Exercise class offerings and moved to an online registering system. This move was put in place to ensure students are attending classes they sign up for and to streamline the process for students. Classes this fall include: Yoga, Power Yoga, Spinning, Zumba, Barre, Stretch and Tone, Kickboxing, and “Jillian Michaels-esque” workout. The department is excited to employ several new instructors who will be teaching classes this semester. Any ideas to new group exercise classes please feel free to let a campus recreational staff member know!
Students may also see a new face in the Recreation Department. Xavier Ford, will be the new Intramural Sports Coordinator. He is obtaining his Master’s Degree from Nova Southeastern University in Florida in the College Student Affairs program. He will be running the day to day operations in his new role and is excited to see participation growth. The Recreation Department is excited to expand and see an increase in the number of students getting involved in an increasing number of ways. We are looking forward to seeing you stay active and healthy this year!
Unfortunately, this past weekend the Boston Red Sox were eliminated 5-4 by the Houston Astros. Similar to last year, the Sox were unable to advance beyond the American League Divisional Series. With recent news of current Red Sox John Farrell not returning, this offseason will surely be filled with questions marks.
