Club Tennis Tops WPI in First Match of the Season

The Bulldogs took the road on Saturday to WPI to begin their 2016-2017 campaign, facing host team WPI and a highly ranked Brandeis team. The first match featured the Bulldogs lead by the junior star Stephane Driesen against WPI. Driesen came out of the gate running, winning his match 6-1 in Men’s Singles. The Bulldogs held on to Driesen’s momentum and kept the ball rolling with big wins in Women’s Single by sophomore Maddie McLaughlin 6-4, and the dynamic pair of Matt Levine and Noelle Ferragamo in Mixed Doubles 6-5. Bulldogs took the morning match against WPI 4-1.

Ultimate Frisbee Win URI Brisk Winds Tournament for the First Time!

Bryant University Ultimate team traveled south this past weekend to compete in the 2-day URI Brisk Winds tournament, down in Kingston,RI. The tournament was considered a non-sanctioned development tournament, which allowed the Bulldog’s A and B teams to be mixed together to create two equal teams called Bryant Y and Bryant X.

After a good first day, the Bulldogs went into Day 2 in championship bracket contention, by having to win their first game of the day to be in the running. Bryant Y unfortunately lost a tough game, which put them into the consolation bracket. Bryant Y didn’t let the slow start to their day get the best of them by turning around and winning the consolation bracket. Bryant X put together a fantastic performance by going 3-0 on the day and winning the title against URI’s Alumni team 11-10. This became Bryant’s first ever title at the URI Brisk Winds Tournament.
