The Bryant Rowing team had a successful weekend at the Textile River Regatta located in Lowell, Massachusetts. The Bulldog’s have worked hard over the summer, during pre-season, and prior to this race, which was a first for the Varsity team.
The club team launched two Varsity 4’s for this race in the same event. The Bulldogs raced at approximately 10:40am and found success with both boats. The first boat lineup included, Rachel Balcom, Rachael Klei, Elizabeth Weston, Lydia Paglierani and coxswain Karine Mikitarian. They came in ninth with a time of 27:30. The second varsity four had Katie Nicholson, Rebecca Klei, Angie Perrone, and Bree McKinstry and coxswain Ally McCorison. This boat finished in tenth place with a time of 28:40.
Along with a newly appointed head coach, Brent Basso, the team also has a new Novice Coach, Jackson Krupnick. With much experience, Coach Krupnick plans to help set up the novice for success in their seasons, while helping to increase member retention. The team is excited to welcome him and train our novice who will be starting their season in a few weeks. New coaches mean new improvements. Bryant looks forward to finding out what the new leadership and the rowing teams will accomplish during this upcoming year! Stay tuned!
